The 2024 Mustang is available in a total of nine model configurations, although there are only three main trims to choose from. As a sports car, the standout features of the Ford Mustang are always its tech specs. For all three trims, features such as rear-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential and a fully independent front and rear suspension are standard.
Mustang EcoBoost
The EcoBoost has a standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost port fuel direct injection turbocharged I-4 engine, which is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Drivers can upgrade to the optional SelectShift 10-speed automatic transmission. Standard steering modes are Normal, Comfort, and Sport. This trim has 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, automatic high beams, and LED daytime running lamps.
Some standard technology features for the EcoBoost trim include the Ford Co-Pilot 360 safety suite. This suite has technology such as a blind spot information system with cross-traffic with braking, a rear view camera, and rain-sensing wipers. This safety suite also includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, dynamic brake support, and forward collision warning.
Mustang GT
The GT trim has a 5.0-liter direct-port fuel direct injection V8 engine and a standard six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching and no lift shift. The wheels for this trim are 18 inches, and the Ford Co-Pilot 360 safety suite is also standard for this trim.
Key standard features for this trim include a 50/50 split-bench folding rear seat, cloth front bucket seats, single-zone climate control, and a six-speaker sound system. The GT also has a 12.4-inch LCD digital cluster.
Mustang Dark Horse
The Dark Horse model has the same powertrain, drivetrain, and transmission configuration as the previous trim. This trim has standard 19-inch wheels with summer-only tires, the Ford Co-Pilot 360 safety suite, and a 3.73 TORSEN limited-slip rear axle.
This trim comes with standard features such as a premium 12-speaker B&O sound system, ambient interior lighting, and a titanium gear shift knob. Dual-zone electronic temperature control and a wireless charging pad are also standard.
Trim Level Model Configurations
For the EcoBoost trim, drivers can choose the base EcoBoost Fastback, the EcoBoost Premium Fastback, the EcoBoost Convertible, or the EcoBoost Premium Convertible models. Premium models have additional advanced features and more customizable options. The Mustang GT is available as the base GT Fastback, GT Premium Fastback, or GT Premium Convertible. The Dark Horse trim has the base model and the Dark Horse Premium model.
