Lemon Bay Park and Environmental Center
This is one of our favorite spots in Englewood for a simple stroll, but you could easily spend a whole day in this beautiful park. Lemon Bay offers hiking trails, fishing, picnicking, and a kayak and canoe launch. You can even bring your dog as long as itās on a leash at all times. Enjoy the butterfly garden and keep an eye out for the many native birds. Explore the habitats surrounding Lemon Bay including flatwood, pine, and mangrove forests.
Lemon Bay Park and Environmental Center is located at 570 Bay Park Blvd. You can visit this protected space daily from 6 a.m. until the sun goes down.
Stump Pass Beach State Park
Englewoodās state park is a great place to take a swim or relax on a mile of peaceful beach. You might also find a shark tooth or cool shell on the sand at Stump Pass Beach State Park. Pack a picnic to eat at one of the tables along the parkās hiking trail, where you could spot a tern, egret, or tortoise. If you take a kayak out from one of the two boat launches, you may even see a manatee.
Stump Pass Beach State Park, located at 900 Gulf Blvd, is open all year long from 8 a.m. until sunset. Parking costs $3 per vehicle.
Englewood Beach Community Yoga
You can take a free yoga class at Englewood Beach every single day, taught by a husband and wife team of certified yoga instructors. Donation is suggested for this Englewood Chamber of Commerce event, held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Youāll find parking for Englewood Beach in the lot at 2100 N Beach Rd. After yoga, you can ātake in the sights on the boardwalk, play basketball or volleyball, or even have a picnic at one of the covered pavilions.
Summer Farmerās Market at The Open Studio
You still have a few chances to visit the Summer Farmerās Market at The Open Studio in Englewood this season. The market takes place on Thursday, August 31 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with vendors selling food, handcrafted jewelry, organic fruits and veggies, and other goods.
The Open Studio is located at 310 Old Englewood Rd. The Summer Farmerās Market will continue to run every Thursday through September.
