Power and performance are what many prospective buyers care about the most. Starting with base engines, the Chevrolet Camaro offers a standard V-6 engine with 335 horsepower, and the Ford Mustang offers a turbocharged EcoBoost engine with 315 horsepower.
However, both vehicles have various engine upgrades and performance improvements. When upgraded to the mid tier, the Ford Mustang GT is more powerful with its V-8 engine that generates 480 horsepower, compared to the Camaro’s 455 horsepower engine. However, the Camaro’s most powerful engine is in the ZL1, which outperforms the top Mustang, but this boost also comes with a hefty increase in price.
